About Shipping...
I'm adding some Wish Lists (see below) to the blog because I've had several people ask about sending me things. A few guidelines for shipping:1) Mail, and especially packages, takes 1-3 months to arrive (no matter what your postmaster in the US may tell you)
2) Don't send anything valuable in the mail. Packages make several stops (in Johannesburg, South Africa then Windhoek, Namibia) before reaching their final destination. They also go through customs where their contents may be searched. So as much as I'd love a new iPod, it probably wouldn't make it here.
3) Tape, tape, tape! Just like luggage on the airline, packages are not treated nicely. You can't go wrong with too much tape!
4) UPS doesn't deliver here. Your best bet is the good ol' US Postal Service. Padded envelopes work great and if need something bigger, the flat rate international box works well too (though it'll cost you about $60 - nobody ever said international shipping would be cheap!)
5) Avoid sending packages during the holiday shipping season (mid-October through December). Nam Post gets flooded with mail at this time of year and this means that packages can sit for months or even get lost. So...ship at your own risk during the holidays!
